Golfing
Florida
offers over 1,100 golf courses with endless tree-lined
fairways and perfect greens. It's no wonder that Florida
is the worlds number one golfing destination and home
to the PGA tour.
All
the year round golfing enthusiast will find Orlando,
Florida golf courses open and ready for a challenge.
If it is a quiet game of golf you are after, then
make sure that you visit us between the months of
May through to October as the golf courses are never
crowded, allowing you to pick your tee time to suit
your pace. Most private golf courses are also open
to the public during these months.
New
and improved facilities and packages make Orlando,
Florida one of the top choices for golf enthusiast.
Golfers flock in their thousands to Orlando, Florida
to tee off and interest is on the increase.
According
to recent studies by The National Golf Foundation
they indicated that Florida continues to be America's
most popular golfing destination.
Florida
is perfect for golfers of all abilities from the first
time tryers to the seasoned professionals.
It
seems more and more these days, pro Tour players are
lending their names to golf facilities as their "touring
professionals." But do you ever wonder where
the pros really call home? Where they go after you
see them on the tube on Sundays? Where they beat balls
between tournaments and unwind with their families?
Well, for some such 50 players, home is Orlando, Florida.
That's
right, the land of Mickey and friends is also home
to some of the world's best golfers including 30 PGA
Tour players, the likes of Tiger Woods, Corey Pavin,
and Ernie Els. Add golfing legends Arnold Palmer and
Gary player, and about a dozen LPGA Tour regulars,
and you've got a pretty talented neighborhood.
Why
do so many of the pros prefer Orlando? Well, there
are 123 courses within a 45-minute drive of downtown,
and perhaps a bigger selection of things to do off
the course than any city on earth. Plus, the weather
is always great for outdoor activities, with an average
annual temperature of 72.4 degrees. In short, it's
a great place to work on your game - or forget about
it altogether.
Orlando
is as much a mecca for the golf purist as the family
vacationer. The area has long been legendary for courses
designed by two of golf's greatest players - Jack
Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. It also is one of the
country's fastest growing golf regions, with dozens
of new courses opened in the past few years, from
designers like Tom Fazio, Pete Dye and Rees Jones.
For
game improvement, Orlando is home to six golf instruction
academies, headed by renowned teachers like David
Leadbetter and Rick McCord. Through personalized teaching
and the latest technological advantages, these schools
may help you find the silver lining to your game.
But
what is it that really attracts the Tour pros? Maybe
they just like competing in front of our hometown
crowds, as local PGA tour residents can do at the
Bay Hill Invitational and the National Car Rental
Golf Classic at Walt Disney World held each year in
Orlando. The pros know there's nothing like winning
at home.
In
addition to the Tour stops, some of golf's grandest
events have come to Orlando. The World Cup of Golf
was played at the Lake Nona Golf Club in 1993 and
at Grand Cypress in 1991. Lake Nona has also hosted
the Solheim Cup in 1989. And each year tens of thousands
of pros and golf equipment manufacturers journey to
Orlando for the PGA Merchandise Show -- the biggest
golf exhibition in the world.
Orlando
has long been known as a place that brings out the
kid in everyone, with attractions and theme parks
beyond compare. But today it's a place for serious
golf as well. Whether you want to play great courses,
learn from top teachers, or watch the best compete,
Orlando has it all. Just ask the Tour pros who call
it home.

Walt
Disney World Resort
There
are 4 major theme parks, Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot,
Disney-MGM Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom®
Theme Park.
There
are also 2 water parks, Disney's Blizzard Beach and
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon.
Choose
from 2 nightime entertainment complexes, DOWNTOWN
DISNEY West Side, or Pleasure Island.
Disney's
Wide World Of Sports Complex is 200 acres of sporting
action, while shoppers should head for DOWNTOWN DISNEY
Marketplace.
Walt
Disney World
The
centerpiece of Walt Disney World's Orlando Resort
is the Magic Kingdom. Opening in 1971, the Magic Kingdom
is home to some of the most famous rides and attractions
that the world has ever known. Millions flock from
around the world each year to enjoy such timeless
classics as "It's a Small World" and Dumbo
The Flying Elephant, or experience exhilarating thrills
on Space Mountain or Splash Mountain.
One
of the most recognizable features of Disney's Magic
Kingdom is Cinderella's Castle. Upon entering the
park, visitors can't help but take in the majesty
of the nearly 200 foot tall tower welcoming them to
Disney's magical world. Inside the castle, intricate
glass mosaics tell the ageless tale of Cinderella
with an artistic flair. Character dining, another
one of Disney's most popular features, is also available
inside Cinderella's Castle. The Once Upon A Time breakfast
at Cinderella's Royal Table is Disney's most sought
after ticket. The park takes reservations weeks in
advance, and they are often necessary to enjoy the
excitement of breakfast with many of Disney's most
well known characters.
Walt
Disney did not live to see the completion of his dream,
the opening of Orlando's Walt Disney World Resort.
However, his brother, Roy, in his dedication of the
park, reminded all that it was Walt's vision and philosophy
that served as the inspiration for the Magic Kingdom.
This important message is carried on a plaque which
still today sits at the entrance to Main Street, U.S.A.
It announces to all who visit that they are about
to enter a magical land of joy and inspiration unlike
any place they've ever been before.

Epcot
In
the over 20 years since its opening in 1982, EPCOT
has given its visitors the opportunity to learn about
the world in ways they could previously only imagine.
At
EPCOT, guests can learn about the latest and greatest
technological innovations at the Innoventions Pavilion,
or uncover the mysteries of our planet on Spaceship
Earth. In addition to these futuristic learning experiences,
EPCOT gives guests the opportunity to become world
travelers over the course of a single day.
By
visiting EPCOT's World Showcase, guests will be transported
from Orlando, Florida to numerous exotic locales around
the world, such as France, China, and Morocco, just
to name a few. Each destination allows guests a glimpse
at the culture and customs of each unique land. EPCOT's
reputation for fine dining is cemented in the World
Showcase, where each country's individual style is
on display in elegant restaurants from Bistro de Paris
in France to the San Angel Inn inside the ancient
Mexican Pavilion.
EPCOT's
current pride lies in its 2 newest attractions. The
first of these new attractions is Test Track. This
journey into the technical wizardry behind automobiles
puts riders in the place of the famous crash test
dummy, riding through a maze of obstacles to test
the durability of the car they are in. Inspired by
the real testing regimen General Motors uses on all
of its cars, Test Track shows visitors the dearth
of work that goes into building an automobile, while
thrilling them with tight turns, near misses, and
a high-speed road test.
The
most recent addition to the EPCOT family is Mission:
Space. This new attraction allows visitors to zoom
ahead to 2036, where they have been chosen to man
a mission to Mars. Consulting with NASA, Disney created
an experience that allows riders to actually feel
what it's like to blast off on a spacecraft. This
incredible experience has been praised as one not
to be missed while on vacation at EPCOT.
Between
the majesty of World Showcase and the enlightening
exhibits and thrilling rides of Future World, EPCOT
is filled with ways to spend your day. One trip, and
you'll know that the future is now at EPCOT.

MGM
Studios
Over
40 years ago, Walt Disney imagined the possibility
of a theme park based on classic film favorites. He
dreamed of a place where visitors would be able to
experience the comings and goings of a backlot, and
revel in the magic of the movies. In the mid-1980's,
Disney finally brought its founder's dreams to fruition
with the opening of the Disney-MGM Studios theme park.
The park combines the excitement of the movies with
Disney's classic flair for the magical.
On
the theme park side, Disney-MGM Studios boasts The
Rock N' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith and the
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, 2 of Disney's most
hair-raising rides. The park is also home to a variety
of other rides, classic movie memorabilia exhibitions,
and fantastic shows that leave audiences breathless.
In
addition to its formidable roster of theme park attractions,
Disney-MGM Studios is a fully functioning movie and
television production center. The Backlot Tour takes
guests into the heart of production to see how movies
are made. It is not uncommon to see films and TV shows
in production, and celebrities are known to make their
way around the park during breaks in filming. You
never know whom you may run into while wandering the
expanses of the park.
The
décor and design of the park recalls the days
of old Hollywood, complete with vintage street signs,
walkways, and a replica of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The park is also home to the Academy of Television
Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame, where the greats of
the TV industry are honored for their contributions
to the medium. Disney-MGM Studios invites visitors
to fully immerse themselves in the movies, with that
special Disney twist.
For
more information, please call (407) W-DISNEY.
Animal
Kingdom
Opening
in 1998, Animal Kingdom is relatively young compared
to its Disney brethren. The newest member of the family
provides an exciting twist on the traditional theme
park experience by transporting visitors into the
wilds for an animal adventure they will always remember.
Over
1500 animals live at Animal Kingdom. As visitors enter,
they pass by habitats holding everything from Flamingos
to Cotton-Top Tamarind Monkeys. Once inside, visitors
will be drawn to the 14 story Tree of Life at the
center of the park. Intricate carvings in the tree
represent the ecological diversity and beauty that
the park possesses. At Animal Kingdom, the animals
are the focus, as evidenced by the exciting opportunities
available for guests to get up close with a wide variety
of species. The ideal way to do this is on the Kilimanjaro
Safari. The safari ride brings guests onto Disney's
own wildlife refuge, where visitors can see elephants,
lions, giraffes, and other fascinating species in
their own, open environment. You never know what you
may encounter on the safari, making it an exciting
new journey every time.
Beyond
the close contact with wild animals, the park brings
thrills and excitement to guests in classic Disney
style. Thrilling rides such as Dinosaur and Kali River
Rapids bring guests to the edge of their seats, while
spectacular shows such as The Festival of the Lion
King bring to mind once again the true magic of Disney.
Fun can also be found on the adventure and exploration
trails, where visitors navigate jungle paths for the
chance to encounter a wide array of exotic creatures.
All this and more makes Animal Kingdom an exciting
attraction for visitors to Orlando. One visit and
you'll understand; this definitely isn't just a zoo!

Universal
Studios & Island of Adventure
Universal's
family of theme parks and entertainment complexes
has a new name and has developed into a destination
with 2 amazing theme parks, Universal Studios®
and Universal's Islands of Adventure.
There's
also a great dining and entertainment complex named
City Walk.
The
Universal company has been entertaining the world
for over 85 years with its combination of blockbuster
films, groundbreaking television programming, and
crowd-pleasing theme parks. The centerpiece of the
Universal empire is Universal Studios Hollywood, where
for many years, visitors have been able to ride the
movies. Looking to expand beyond California, Universal
brought its successful theme park concept to Orlando
in 1990.
Universal's
arrival, along with the opening of Disney-MGM Studios
around the same time, brought production facilities,
sound stages, and movie stars to Orlando along with
the requisite rides and attractions. Since that time,
many film and television producers have taken advantage
of what Central Florida has to offer, bringing projects
formerly based in Hollywood to Orlando.
Universal
Studios in Orlando has always been known for its innovative
rides and attractions, which are designed to let visitors
experience the movies like never before. On Men In
Black: Alien Attack, for example, riders are invited
to join Agent J, played by Will Smith, on an adventure
to rid New York of alien invaders. On Back To The
Future: The Ride, Christopher Lloyd, in character
as Dr. Emmitt L. Brown, leads guests on a race through
time to stop the evil Biff Tannen. These are just
some of the ways that guests can experience the world
of film firsthand.
Universal
Studios Florida also gives visitors the opportunity
to step behind the scenes and learn what goes into
creating a silver screen classic. At the Universal
Horror Make-Up Show, guests can see how frightening
creatures are created using the most advanced special
effects and make up techniques. Guests can also tour
Nickelodeon Studios, which is on-site, to see what
goes into creating some of the most unique and creative
children's programming ever to hit TV.
A
trip to Universal is like a trip into the heart of
Hollywood. With films and TV shows always in production,
one never knows who they might see wandering the sidewalks
of the park. Additionally, the park allows visitors
to experience classic films in an entirely new way,
putting them right in the middle of a raging Twister,
or a battle against Jaws, just to name a few. With
so much to experience, Universal is a can't miss attraction
for anyone on their way to Orlando.

Islands
of Adventure
Billed
as the most technologically advanced theme park ever
designed, Universal's Islands of Adventure is an all
out assault on the senses. From death-defying thrill
rides to wet and wild water attractions, the park's
five unique islands each provides its own brand of
excitement.
As
guests wander through the Port of Entry, they'll find
that they must make a choice. The park is built in
a circular design, and guests can choose to turn right,
toward Seuss Landing, or left, toward Marvel Super
Hero Island. More often than not, guests choose to
go left, as Marvel Super Hero Island is the home of
The Incredible Hulk Coaster, one of Orlando's most
exhilarating experiences. The island is also home
to the thrilling free fall ride, Dr. Doom's Fearfall,
in which riders are blasted 150 feet into the air,
where gravity takes over. The island also features
the comic book chaos of Spider Man, as well as the
opportunity to meet and greet some of the bravest
heroes from the Marvel universe.
Beyond
the borders of Marvel Super Hero Island lies Toon
Lagoon. This island is home to some of the wackiest
water rides Orlando has to offer. Hop in a log with
Dudley Do-Right at Rip Saw Falls and look out below,
or help Popeye save Olive Oyl from the clutches of
Bluto on the drenching Bilge-Rat Barges. There are
also many opportunities in Toon Lagoon to meet classic
cartoon characters for a one-on-one visit.
Crossing
the bridge from Toon Lagoon, guests will find themselves
staring at the familiar wooden gates of Jurassic Park.
The sounds of the rainforest are unmistakable as visitors
creep past the entrance and into the overgrown jungle
of Isla Nublar. This island is home to the Jurassic
Park River Adventure, a leisurely boat ride gone terribly
wrong, as well as many educational exhibits about
Dinosaurs. There are also attractions specifically
designed for younger visitors, including the Pteranodon
Flyers and Camp Jurassic.
Beyond
Jurassic Park lies the mysterious Lost Continent.
This mystical, ancient land is home to one of Orlando's
most innovative rides, the electrifying Dueling Dragons.
This roller coaster features two separate tracks,
Fire and Ice, which intertwine to create a series
of near misses along with the traditional loops and
corkscrews. Each track is a different experience,
but both are unforgettable. The Lost Continent is
also home to The Flying Unicorn, a roller coaster
geared toward youngsters, and the exciting showcase
Poseidon's Fury.
After
passing through the Lost Continent, guests will find
themselves in a land of wonder and whimsy like no
other. Seuss Landing is designed to mimic the appearance
of the world created in the many written works of
Dr. Seuss. His signature style is apparent the second
one sets foot in Seuss Landing. The island is also
home to rides that are uniquely Seuss. The Cat in
The Hat takes guests on a magical journey through
the pages of the classic book, and the Caro-Seuss-El
is a creative new take on a traditional favorite.
It
is easy to spend an entire day at Islands of Adventure.
From the fear and awe of Jurassic Park to the action
and excitement of the Marvel Heroes to the laughter
and lunacy of Seuss Landing, there is truly something
for everyone at Islands of Adventure.
For
further information, please call (407) 363-8000.
Boasting
several arcades, thrill rides and water rides and
offering a plethora of eateries, Islands of Adventure
is a young adult's dream. As you explore the five
islands, you'll defy gravity, narrowly escape the
clutches of a T-Rex, brave rolling white water rapids
and narrowly miss the dragons' fire and ice. Children
and adults of all ages will get absorbed in the excitement,
trying to hit all the rides in the park before closing
time. Before beginning your adventure, you must pass
the threshold of the Port of Entry. The Port houses
several eateries and snack shops, and a full-service
dining restaurant. Located between Marvel Super Hero
Island and Seuss Landing, the Port is a great way
to start your journey!

Sea
World
A
recent facelift at Sea World has turned it into an
'Adventure Park' with the addition of a couple of
serious thrill rides. Shamu is still top on everyone's
list but he's definitely got some competition!
Since
its opening in 1973, SeaWorld has held the title of
Orlando's premier marine adventure park.
The
park is home to some of Orlando's most thrilling rides,
as well as an unprecedented range of animal attractions
that include chances to get up close and personal
with many of the world's most fascinating creatures.
SeaWorld's commitment goes far beyond providing guests
with an exciting theme park experience.
SeaWorld
is committed to conservation first and foremost, which
includes educating guests about the dangers many wild
animals face, as well as maintaining a 24 hour on-call
rescue team to help threatened creatures at a moments
notice. Over the years, the rescue team at SeaWorld
Orlando has saved 275 manatees from certain death,
making it the largest and most successful manatee
rescue program ever. The park has also pioneered an
incredibly successful killer whale breeding program,
with 18 new whales born at parks across the country,
including 12 in Orlando alone.
SeaWorld's
allure lies in its wide array of animal attractions.
Two different Shamu shows allow visitors to meet SeaWorld's
famous killer whale family, and areas such as Pacific
Point Preserve allow guests to view sea lions and
harbor seals frolicking in their natural setting.
Another of the park's famous animal attractions is
the Shark Encounter, where guests walk through a translucent
tunnel that is situated at the bottom of a pool filled
with sharks, barracudas, and other terrors of the
deep.
Shows
Shamu Adventure - Shamu Adventure showcases the talents
of Orlando's favorite family of killer whales. Also
featuring the extraordinary free flight of the regal
African fish eagle.

this 30-minute cirque-de-la-sea will immerse you in
the underwater fantasyland with its striking music

sea lion set as an animal trainer and his first mate,
Clyde the sea lion, prepare to 'Take Pirate Island.'
Animal Attractions

species of birds call this re-created polar kingdom
their home. Watch as they dive, swim and enjoy their
"natural habitat."
Shark Encounter - Explore the perils of the ocean
depths in the world's largest underwater tunnel –
the only thing separating you from the sharp-tooth
mouths of venomous fish, dangerous barracudas, slippery
eels and deadly sharks.
Tropical Rain Forest - Travel through the most beautiful
area of SeaWorld! Exotic birds and plant life bring
the world's rain forest to Orlando's backyard.
Rides and Games
Kraken - While SeaWorld may only have three actual
rides, what they lack in quantity they make up for
in quality. The most exciting of the three rides is
Kraken, the only "floorless" roller coaster
in Orlando. Reaching speeds in excess of 65 MPH, Kraken
is one of the most intense experiences Orlando has
to offer.
Journey to Atlantis - Another innovative attraction,
combining elements of roller coasters and water rides
to create the first ever "water coaster".

Beaches
Daytona
Beach began as a place for speed. Between 1902 and
1935, no less than 13 land auto racing records were
set on Daytona's 23 miles of hard, flat beach, which
is up to 500 feet wide at some points. Today, beach
drivers must observe a sedate 10-mile per hour speed
limit, while the racing cars can be seen inland at
Daytona International Speedway. Hotels line the shoreline
along Daytona's 10 miles of beaches, giving vacationers
their own small slice of paradise.
It's
been called the quintessential beach town, and Cocoa
Beach, an hour's drive east of Orlando on Florida's
beautiful Space Coast, exemplifies everything that
a classic beach vacation should be. The tropical climate
and exotic landscapes of Cocoa Beach offer endless
ways to enjoy recreation and leisure on the six-mile
stretch of white, sandy beach.
St.
Petersburg & Clearwater - Florida's west coast
beaches are where you want to be! Close to everything,
yet miles away. A beautiful peninsula located on Florida's
West coast, the area is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico
to the west and by Tampa Bay to the east. There is
35 miles of white-sand beaches on some 20 barrier
islands. Located just 30 minutes to Busch Gardens
in Tampa and 90 minutes to Walt Disney World Resort
in Orlando.
Daytona
Beach
Everyone
knows that Daytona invented the beach party. The classic
Spring Break destination has been entertaining millions
every year with its exciting attractions and white,
sandy beaches. The area is well known as the host
city of the most exciting auto race of the year, the
Daytona 500, but beyond the fast cars and bright lights,
there is a charming beach town that provides the perfect
setting for oceanside fun. Fishing expeditions and
equipment rentals allow even novice fishermen to try
and land a big catch, and windsurfing, jet-ski rentals
and parasailing are all available for fun and adventure.
The area is exceptionally proud of the fame it has
achieved as a beach destination. Many special beach
